Dermal fillers (Belotero®/Restylane®)

Aging is a fact of life. Looking your age doesn’t have to be. Dermal fillers (Belotero®/Restylane®) are minimally invasive and combat signs of aging by lifting, plumping and enhancing your natural beauty.

How does it work?

Dermal fillers are composed of hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is naturally occurring in the body’s connective tissues. The primary function of this sponge-like molecule’s is to absorb water, thereby creating volume by plumping up the skin from underneath. As we age, production of hyaluronic acid decreases, resulting in wrinkles and sagging skin. Hyaluronic acid-based soft tissue fillers like Belotero® and Juvederm® provide what nature takes away. They can correct marionette and smile lines around the mouth. They are also effective in conturing the cheeks, treating nasolabial folds between the nose and lips, and plumping lips.

Downtime

You can resume normal activities for most areas. If you had your lips treated, then we recommend 2 days for swelling to subside. Some people love the post injection swelling and in those people, we say, “rock the look!”.

Is it painful?

Making sure you are comfortable is our priority. We apply a topical anesthetic in addition to ice to reduce discomfort. Some areas, such as the lips, we offer a local anesthetic to numb the area to make it a painless experience (additional cost applies).
